Should Windows Essentials or Windows Vista be used?

Windows Essentials, also known as Windows XP Home Edition, is a popular Microsoft freeware program that comes with Windows for most of the pre-installed programs. Windows Essentials has enjoyed a lot of popularity since its initial release. However, this popularity has been steadily declining in recent years due to several high-profile Windows Vista "backports". Windows Essentials includes everything you need to set-up and run most Windows applications. This includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Windows Essentials offers a wide range of add-on software tools that can be used to customize Windows installations.

Microsoft plans to release two additional updates to Windows Essentials later in the year. These updates will bring the program current with the most recent technology from Microsoft: Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP. However, it will still be able support Windows Server 2021. Microsoft has released Windows XP Service Pack 2, a new Windows Live Software product. The Windows XP Service Pack 2 has many new features such as a new Windows interface and taskbars, more memory, the option of turning off unnecessary startup items and support for Windows Media Foundation codecs. It also supports the Windows registry, blue screen error, enhanced stability, and the ability create safe backups and restore points.

Windows Essentials may appear redundant and obsolete, but those who have used it frequently will tell you the opposite. This popular Microsoft utility tool set can make your life easier, especially if it's not too expensive. Windows Live Essentials is a very basic product that doesn't offer many advanced features. However, if you are looking for something simple that won't take too much time, this could be a great choice. Microsoft's website allows you to download Windows Live software for free. You can also join any Windows Live user group on the Microsoft Answers forums to chat with other Windows users about this product and other Microsoft products.
