How to use Winamp with WMMV for Vista
Winamp Classic is a well-known media player software that creates personalized playlists and makes it easy to listen your favorite music. Winamp Classic can play audio, but it is not capable of handling most audio formats and high-definition video. Winamp Classic will only stream correctly if you have the correct code for all formats that are often played on a computer. Audio files use the PCM format (Pulse code modulation). This can be converted to WMA and AVI. Converting PCM to other formats can be difficult because the compression used in Winamp Classic can be very slow on fast systems. This is why many people choose WMA to convert audio files to other formats.
Winamp Classic would work best on a Vista PC if you first downloaded the free software, then transferred all your files from digital music files to it using your USB or network-attached storage device. If you don't have the budget to purchase Winamp Classic for Vista, you can convert your audio files to WMA with one of the many (Wmicam file) programs available online. A WMMV application has the advantage of automating complex conversions and handling them automatically, without you needing to know how Winamp Classic works.
You can use Winamp Classic on your Vista PC by downloading one of the WMA packages that is WMMV-based from the internet and installing the software. Winamp Classic with WMMV can be used by clicking on the icon "Winamp Classics" located in the bottom left corner. To verify that your application is functioning properly, click on "Start", the "Settings", or "Control Panel" to access your control panel. Select "Video Manager" from all the options. This will allow you browse through your video files, and you can choose which ones you wish to convert for your Windows Movie maker project. Finally, click "OK".
