Multipurpose app
Tencent, a Chinese company, has created WeChat, a multi-purpose mobile app. It is a messaging and social media application, but it also has a mobile payment feature called WePay. WeChat was originally released for mobile devices but is now also available for desktop devices.
Logging InTo use WeChat on Windows, users must have an account with WeChat Mobile. To use WeChat for Windows, users will need to scan the QR code displayed at the Windows version log in screen using their mobile device. It is not possible for users to sign up from the WeChat desktop application due to its strict security measures.
InterfaceWeChat's interface is simple and intuitive. Users will find their chat list and contact information on the left side. The chat window is located on the right side of the window. This allows users to send messages and receive replies from their friends.
Additional FeaturesUsers can also send media files to one another over WeChat, just like other messaging apps. WeChat supports video calls and group chats. WeChat's built-in screenshot feature is a very useful feature. It allows users to take and send screenshots directly from the desktop app.
A Companion App AcceptableThis desktop version will be very useful for WeChat customers. It might be a little difficult for new users to set it up. Potential users will be turned off by the lengthy sign-up process for the mobile app. The desktop version can be used as a companion app to the mobile one once it has been properly set up.
