VoodooShield from VoodoSoft provides a free privacy and security tool for Windows devices. It can effectively protect your computer from malicious online content. It acts as an excellent companion to a full-blown anti-virus program by locking your computer while you use web apps.

VoodooShield doesn't detect malware on your computer, unlike Avast and AVG. It acts instead as an online filter and desktop shield, and a computer locker.

This software's primary function is to deny-by default mode, whitelisting files and apps you use, and to protect your computer. Its machine-learning decision engine dynamically adapts to your PC usage, behaviour, and ensures better protection for every day of use.

It is also very easy to use. The web app launches automatically and runs silently in background.

After installation, the program activates its Training Mode. It will then detect the apps you use and add them to the whitelist so they don't get alerted.

VoodooShield blocks unidentified processes once it is up and running. It requires permission to execute them.

There are two modes of operation: AutoPilot or Application Whitelisting. The first mode is less secure as it relies on the program's safety judgments. It displays fewer prompts. The latter allows you to customize more but requires frequent responses.

VoodooShield allows you to customize functions to suit your needs. After activating the program, it will block any non-whitelisted programs. However, you can still access it by opening the pop up notification and clicking on the Allow button.

Smart Mode reduces pop-up clutter. It assumes your device is free from viruses and threats. Instead, it focuses on vetting any new programs that you access via the internet or via a USB stick.

You can also use the local sandbox mode. It can be used to run suspicious programs, without requiring you to authorize any permanent changes to the Registry and file system.

VoodooShield can't replace traditional antivirus software but it can complement them to increase protection and prevent future problems.
