v 13|ThunderSoft
Windows video editing tool that is versatile
Thundersoft is a powerful, but limited, software for editing videoz on Windows. You can crop, trim, add music and effects to your footage and export it in a variety formats.
FunctionalityWhen you load the free version, the first thing you'll notice is a warning about watermarking. You can only export one minute of footage and some features cannot be used more than five times. There is no time limit so you don't have to rush to get the most out of the software.
Clean interfaceThe Video Editor has a simple, colourful interface with large buttons for different features. After selecting one, you will be taken to the workspace. You'll be able choose from all the options. It's a little strange to select a function first, as it adds an unnecessary step in your workflow.
User ExperienceVideo Editor is limited in its capabilities, but it offers many useful options such as playback speed, image adjustment, the possibility to add your music, and a variety of simple effects.
It is easy to use and has a staggering number of export settings. It is impossible to determine which features are affected by the limit of five times.
Capabilities are limitedThere are many video editing programs available for free, so it's hard to see why Thundersoft's Video editor is worth the cost. Although the features it does offer are great, the trial limitations are too restrictive. Windows built-in Movie Maker is free and not feature-locked so you might be better off using it instead.
