USB Drive Letter Manager (or USBDLM), is a free tool that allows you to manage Windows' letter assignment for USB drives. USBDLM allows you to assign a drive number to any USB devices connected to your computer.
USBDLM is currently an official Windows service. This means you can use any account on the device without administrative rights. This is typically required by Windows to edit drive letters.

Configuring USBDLMIt is easy to change the behavior of the USBDLM application. Editing the USBDLM.INI file is all that's required. The package also includes a demo configuration file that you can use as an experiment. Once you have downloaded the service, it is time to install it.
The app also allows you to assign custom USB drive letters and hide or delete drives. You can also customize the service so that a popup window displays the drive letter and allows you to set the service to name letters when certain criteria are met.
