Free USB file explorer app

USB Device Tree Viewer, a free file explorer app, has similar features as Q-Dir and Mywe File Explorer. It focuses on USB devices and file hierarchy but you can also see the relationships among them.

There are many layout options available, each separated by multiple panels. Drop-down boxes will also be displayed that look similar to the Windows 10 device explore. You can view the relationships between devices by clicking on the checkmarks.

File exploration

The main function of USB Device Tree Viewer is to allow you to access files on external devices and view their details and properties. This is a more advanced version of Windows 10 file browser. It allows you to view hierarchial trees as well as relationships between different devices. You will find information such as time, sequence, request, details and USB type.

Plug-and-Play properties

If you're interested in seeing the PnP properties for your USB, the program allows you to dig a little deeper. This information is only available if an external device is PnP-compatible, which USB Device Tree Viewer can also detect. You can access the following data: Instance ID, Service name, Setup class, Hardware location, and many more.

Device stacks

If objects are attached to your computer that form a chain, it is possible to examine the details of the device stack. You can also view layers of information about drivers that are linked to the objects, especially if they were created by device stacks. You can also view any device nodes that are connected to them, and the driver relationship.

Window layouts

You'll see different window panels when you open USB Device Tree Viewer. The Device Tree is the main pane that shows you which devices are connected and how they are organized. Other windows include a file analyzer, data analyser and request summaries.

Explore your USB devices

If you are looking for a file explorer that can access external devices, USB Device Tree Viewer will be the perfect solution. It is extremely useful when you have a lot of storage to sort through and need to drill down to the details.
