The Struggle of Trust is an action-adventure platformer for Windows PCs. You will be immersed in a strange, pixelated world where you will need to defeat deadly monsters and escape danger using flawless combo maneuvers. As the story unfolds, the game will test your mystery-solving and clue-finding skills.

The Struggle of Trust sees you as a nameless character who wakes up confused and dazed. Although it seems like you are at home, you don't recognize the landscape outside. Is it dreaming? Soon you realize that you have somehow landed in an alternate reality.

You take your sword with you and set out to explore the unknown in search of answers and return home. You don't realize that there are perils at every corner. The Struggle for Trust world is full unsolved puzzles, challenges and enemies that are waiting to be defeated. Fortunately, you will meet some helpful NPCs on your adventures.

SoftFrame's Rushab Roihan, an Indie developer, and Humaiyun Urdin, a SoftFrame developer, bring this side-scrolling game to life with vibrant pixelated imagery. It is reminiscent of other platforming titles like Cuphead and The Messenger. These qualities will soon be apparent as you travel through eerie realms like The Lifeless Expanse and Volcanic Lair.

This Windows game uses classic keyboard controls. You can move using the arrow keys, jump using the Spacebar, and use the Down key for a look below. You can perform somersaults and enter small spaces with the E key. The Z key activates swordslashing. You can also use the Shift key to dash and the P key to pause the game.

It will take practice to master the controls and land those devastating combos. You will need to time your jumps and somersaults correctly while avoiding obstacles. The game also includes a tutorial.

The Struggle of Trust, an indie game that has a Metroidvania feel, is intriguing. The pixel art, plotline, mechanics and gameplay create a cohesive experience. Although the controls can be difficult to master, with practice you will be able to defeat monsters, dodge obstacles and solve mysteries in no time. Highly recommended.
