Survival horror game

The Devil is an indie video game that puts you in a horror situation and forces you to explore its amazing world in order to survive. It's beautifully designed and extremely detailed, providing a great player experience.

Story-driven

The Devil is a survival horror game. The inspiration for the game came from iconic titles like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The adventure they created is authentic and unique, however.

You play the role of a Lifter, guiding a Spire to your destination. Your Spire becomes separated from the rest of the herd and heads towards a cursed swamp when something goes wrong. You decide to explore the haunted land you are now trapped in.

The world-building is excellent. Each character is fleshed out and you can take your time getting down to the swamp. Although it doesn't have the same hype as modern horror games, the story is still very appealing due to the attention the developers paid to the smallest details.

Straightforward mechanics

This game can be played on both your Mac and Windows PCs using either a keyboard or a gaming pad. You can perform simple actions, such as movement and interaction, using the controls.

Despite the simplicity of the available activities, the gameplay can be quite difficult. The developers have posted several cheats on their site, which allow you to enjoy unlimited health, ammo and gun repairs, as well as the ability to restart the game regardless of your save.

Detail design

The story's mood is set by the gritty, glum visuals. The cover artwork is reminiscent of fantasy literature. The detailed plot portrays a terrifying world that will grab you by the claws.

The sound design fits the story well. It's well-constructed and authentic with realistic footstep sounds, ambient sounds, as well as a variety of eerie original tunes that fit into different story segments.

A well-written tale

The Devil is similar to Darkwood and one of the few indie games that pays so much attention to world-building. This game is a must-try for horror fans. The gameplay is extremely difficult but rewarding.
