Adventure action for free

The Black Dawn Collection is a collection of adventure action games that was free to download. It dates back to the Commodore Amiga days. It features a casual gameplay style similar to Peeb Adventures or Dizzy the Adventurer but with different graphics. It can be run using an emulator that can execute Amiga packages files.

This game has retro graphics and controls, but still retains the classic dungeon crawler gameplay. Each title can be played at your own pace without the need to complete the previous one. Each title has a different storyline and style. There are nine installments in the Black Dawn series.

Commodore Amiga gameplay

Amiga is a personal computer that was released in 1985 as part the Commodore series. It featured custom hardware that provided accelerated sound and visuals. The Black Dawn Collection will give you the same retro graphics as back then, with sound effects that are played over an emulator.

The entire collection

The official nine installments are what make up The Black Dawn Collection. Two additional packages are available that include the prelude and Parasite I, as well as Parasite II. Black Dawn is a zip file, while most titles can be used as an ADF extension.

Unpacking files

To play each episode, you will need emulator extractors such as WIN-UAE or FS-UAE. Some gamers have had trouble opening some files and running them. You can either extract one file at a time, or all of them at once.

Insufficient guidance

Most modern games have guides that can help you with settings, gameplay, and tutorials. These guides are not available in the Black Dawn Collection. You will need to find each episode individually as you play. Although the instructions are helpful, they don't really help.

Retro-style gameplay

Fans of the series and the Commodore Amiga will enjoy the Black Dawn Collection. It is worth looking into if you are nostalgic. If you don't, there isn't much to grab your attention, especially if you don’t have one.
