Stronghold Crusader, an old RTS game, was originally released in 2002. However, it has remained in its rightful place. Many of the in-game features that were outdated were removed by the HD version. There are seven Stronghold Crusader game options, but many players consider this the best.

RTS games like Stronghold Crusader can be challenging because you have multiple aspects to manage. As you complete the four historical campaign missions, you will need to build a castle with defenses and Siege engines. The story covers the first, second and third crusades, as well as conflicts with other crusader countries.

You have a wide range of units that you can use to defend your fortress or fight the crusades. These include fighting troops like archers, knights, spearmans, crossbowmen, and spearmen. There are many units you can use to attack a fortress, such as the engineer or tunneler.

Building your castle and choosing other buildings that can be used to grow an army, or raise capital is a key aspect of the game. You can also set up a dairy farm or hop farm to increase your food production. A stronghold or keep is also necessary to protect your property from intruders.

Stronghold Crusader, being an older game, lacks modern graphics and a high resolution. This issue was solved by the HD rerelease. It has a higher resolution map that allows players to see all of it at once.

The campaigns have a well-written story with interesting characters like The Rat, a young boy who grew up poor but became wealthy. If you want to survive the crusades, this game is challenging and requires careful planning. It lacks modern graphics due to its age.
