Shark007 created Standard Codecs, a portable and free codecs package. It is compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10. This codec solution is compatible with Windows 7, 8.1, and 10. It is similar to K-Lite Codec Pack.

This codecs pack allows you to use any media player to watch movies and video clips of different types. It supports streaming in many formats via popular web browsers. This package replaces the current codec configuration.

Standard Codecs Windows provides full thumbnails. This makes it easier to choose the percentage to grab for a thumbnail. You can use the preview pane to view non-native files like MKV or FLV.
