Simple x264 is a graphical interface (GUI), used on the front-end for the x264 H.264/AVC encoder. It uses the Qt toolkit. It is a standalone application that includes all necessary DDLs. It is portable and self-contained. HandBrake and MediaCoder are two other options for encoding software.

Lord Mulder has created the free Simple x264. It is compatible with 32-bit or 64-bit Windows operating system and supports Windows 7, 8, and 10. This download may contain malicious or unwanted software.

Simple x264 can create H.264/AVC files (x264). The software is fully self-contained and does not require any plugins or codecs. This software is portable and can store all settings. It can run on both 32-bit and 64 bit systems. You also have the option of using high-bit-depth encoders. Simple x264 can perform batch encoding and can handle multiple encoding jobs simultaneously.

You can add new jobs via the command-line interface, or you can use input from Avisynth or VapourSynth frame server. You can mix 32-bit and 64-bit for both servers.

It is easy to use the 'Presets' and 'Tunings' systems. You can also define custom parameters. You can also create custom templates to manage your encoder settings. The Qt toolkit provides a consistent user interface across all systems.

The requirements are set by the encoders, not Simple x264. Minimum:

Windows Vista (service pack 2 or later) is recommended.

Audio processing and encoding are not supported by the x264 encoder. This is why Simple x264 doesn't support it. After multiplexing or muxing, you will need to add an audio stream to your video file. You can also use the unofficial version x264 with audio support. However, it will not work if your input file contains an audio stream. Avisynth script won't work with Simple x264.

Simple x264 is available for free and compatible on many Windows computers. The standalone application prepares video files to be output in the correct formats and makes them available as fluid videos. Audio processing is not supported due to the nature x264 encoders.
