All RSS versions, ATOM 3.0 and 1.0, as well as modules such as dublin core, content.encoding, xhtml.body, etc., are supported. Advanced threading support allows you to view connected items in a threaded manner. SharpReader can detect and show connections between items if they share the same link. It can also detect if two items link to the same webpage. Subscribed feeds can be grouped into custom categories. Feed settings such as refresh-rate or purge timeout can either be set per feed, or per category. Category-wide settings are applicable to all feeds within that category that have not been set to "Default" for that setting. Subscribing to new feeds is easy with SharpReader. Simply drag the link from your browser into SharpReader or enter the URL into the address bar at the top. Feedster integration allows you to search news sites and weblogs for specific terms and subscribe to these searches to be notified when new results are available. Proxy-servers and proxy authentication support. Use HTTP Conditional HTTP GETs and gzip/deflate encryption to reduce bandwidth. System-tray is minimized. Systray popups when new items arrive. This can be disabled per-feed or per category through the properties pane. You can navigate with your keyboard to the next or previous item. OPML allows you to import and export subscriptions.
