Registry Finder is a small utility program that's innovative and can be used to find things in the registry.

It does much more. Registry Finder is a simple and straightforward registry editor. It offers all the same functionality as RegEdit, but it has more to offer. You can browse the local registry and create, delete, and rename values. You can also modify values like string, multi-string, and DWORD.

Multiple registry windows can be opened at once. They will reopen using the same registry keys that you closed them. This is useful in the event of a crash or reboot.

The registry search is fast and efficient. All items found are displayed in separate windows within a list. Each line represents a single match to the search criteria. The location of the match is also displayed with a handy icon. You can also jump to any Registry results and delete or edit them from the same window.

The software can also search for hidden registry keys, i.e. RegEdit cannot access the names containing null characters.

The replace feature makes it easy to replace individual or multiple instances within a string. Importantly, replacements can only be performed within the Items window that you are currently working in.

Registry Finder allows you to undo and redo any operation, even deleted strings. Each change made is stored in the 'History Window', which can be accessed from the main menu. The last action is marked with a small yellow star for easy reference. Registry Finder has a number command line parameters that can be used for customizing behavior.

Registry Finder doesn't need to be installed in order to use it. It can be run from USB or the hard drive. You don't have to choose between 32 or 64-bit versions of the binaries.

Registry Finder requires elevated privileges to run. Registry Finder can't be used if User Account Control has been turned on. The developer will let you know if Registry Finder crashes and will also give feedback. However, he will advise that you only use the most recent version of Registry Finder. This is a nice touch, we think.

This utility is not for you if you have just read the above and are still having trouble understanding it or if you don't understand any of it. Registry Finder is for people who know and understand what they are doing. If you don't know what you're doing, don't mess with your computer's registry settings.
