v beta-5|SteelRaven7
Simple and well-executed FPS
First-person shooting games are very common in today's gaming market. It takes a unique concept or exceptional execution to stand out in this overcrowded FPS market. Ravenfield falls in the second category. It looks very similar to a standard FPS game, with low-quality graphics. It excels in execution, as evident by the overwhelming positive response it has received. Can it compete with the triple-A FPS games by major game developers?
General ConceptRavenfield is aspired to be an FPS game. Ravenfield does not have to be complicated or have complex plots. It focuses on the shooting game aspect of the game. You are a soldier for the Blue team fighting against the Red team. Your goal is to lead your Blue team in victories on the Ravenfield.
GameplayRavenfield is a FPS game. To win, your team must shoot as many enemies possible. Ravenfield also has vehicles such as ships, tanks, helicopters and jets. You can fight with as many or as few combatants as you like on the field. There is no limit on how many you can add to your fight, other than the amount that your computer can handle.
Availability and System RequirementsRavenfield is currently available for all three major desktop operating systems: Windows (Mac), Linux (Linux), and Windows (Windows). Ravenfield's low system requirements make it even more impressive. The minimum requirements for Ravenfield are 4GB RAM, 1GB storage space, Intel HD 3000 graphics and a 32-bit system running at 2GHz. Although it would be ideal to have a faster build, these minimum requirements will ensure that the game runs even on low-end desktops.
GraphicsLow minimum requirements could be due to unpolished graphics. The game is lacking in details and the characters look almost like toy soldiers. It is evident that the developer did not hesitate to try for realism. Ravenfield is able to deliver fast-paced, satisfying action without having to rely on graphic resources. This is a major advantage over most games.
It has a lot of potentialRavenfield may not look polished, but it is a great standalone game. It also has mod support so that if something is wrong, the community can make up for it. Ravenfield is a highly-executed FPS with great potential.
