PryEngine 2D is basically a free program that allows gamers to create 2D videogames on Windows. Once you have created your 2D world, you can release it under either a free or commercial license.

PryEngine 2D allows you to create spaceships, mazes, talking characters, and wandering creatures. The program allows you to create players and bots characters of any size that can be controlled simultaneously. It supports animations in motion of characters in up to eight different directions.

These are the key features:

Multiple characters can be controlled at once. Application supports 32 and 64 bits. Available in English and Spanish. Motion animations in eight directions.Inventory of objectsGame map of up to 128x128 tile. Free to use and release (Under free and commercial license). Elements of the game map in seven layers

The program also has a large number of objects that can be used. Game maps can be made with tiles measuring 64x64 pixels, or with background images. A game map can be made up of 128x128 tiles. A smooth scroll map allows the user to navigate in eight directions. It features a player interface in English and Spanish, and seven layers of elements.

The engine's author has been open about some of its limitations. It does not support online support, has only two types of weapons and supports one map per game. It allows you to jump to other areas on the map, but not to another level or map. It doesn't allow for the creation of graphics, sounds, or music.

PryEngine 2D is still a free platform for game design, even with its limitations. Demos and screen shots show how easy it is to create classic 2D videogames using the program. It is certain to draw a lot of interest from the gaming community.
