Open Source project management tool
ProjectLibre is an open-source, free project management tool. It was created as an open-source alternative for Microsoft Project. It shares many similarities with MS Project. ProjectLibre also supports file compatibility.
AvailableProjectLibre is cross-platform available. It can be used on Linux, MacOS, or MS Windows operating systems. ProjectLibre is written using Java so users may need to install the most recent version before ProjectLibre can run correctly.
InterfaceProjectLibre has a similar interface as MS Office. Both programs have a ribbon-style interface. Users will find two windows below the ribbon: the task list window, and the Gnatt Chart. Users can view tasks in a bar graph with the Gnatt Chart. This allows users to see how many tasks are running at any given time and how long it will take to complete them.
Other FeaturesProjecLibre offers different views for task visualizations. Users can view tasks in network flow charts or work breakdown structures, as well as the Gnatt Chart. The Task Usage view allows you to see how task hours are broken down further.
ProjectLibre can organize projects according to their resources. Projects can be viewed using a resource breakdown scheme (RBS).
Powerful and FreeProjectLibre is a free project management software, but it has enough features to make it useful for managers. ProjectLibre is not for beginners. Once you get the hang of it, it can make project organization easy.
