Free 2D horror game demo
Perishment, a 2D survival horror game for Windows, is currently in development by developer ohm_ena. It can be downloaded through itch.io at no cost or you can make a donation.
2D graphics enhance the chilling atmosphere created in the dark corridors and spooky spaces you explore. You will explore the dark passageways and solve problems to escape the horrors that await you. The game Resident Evil was an inspiration for the developer, but it also contains dark elements similar to Bio Evil, The Medium, and The Devil.
What is Perishment? You are dragged out of your cozy apartment by a horrifying scream. You find a woman who is dead and her husband who is injured. You want to escape the building and raise an alarm. But something feels very wrong. It's not going to be easy, but you know it will.
Is Perishment free? You can download the demo version for free on Windows. Perishment allows you to make a voluntary donation to support its development. There are no hard feelings if you don't wish to make a payment. Instead, just skip the payment and get the ZIP file.
How can you play Perishment? The game is keyboard-controlled and does not support a gamepad.
You can move left or right using the 'A', 'D' keys. The 'S" and 'W keys highlight the menu options. You can use the 'E' key to select your choice option while you are in a menu. You can use it to perform actions like picking up items or walking through doors during the game.
Is Perishment suitable to be used by children? It's not suitable for children, it's too creepy. The sound effects and background music throughout the game maintain a sense dread. You are constantly on edge and waiting for a jumpy fear.
Creepy visual effectsDeveloper ohm_ena uses pixelated sounds and formats to great effect. This shows that HD graphics don't always have to be used in order to create the perfect atmosphere for a game. The graphics create a feeling of being trapped, restricting you to narrow corridors or apartments while you try to figure what to do next.
The developer is on the right track to creating a terrifying, supernatural survival horror game that will not let you relax for a second. Bio Evil and The Devil are great options if you're looking for this type of game.
