Free Game Boy horror game

Opossum Country is a horror-driven story-driven game for Game Boy's classic gaming handheld system. Ben Jelter, an indie developer, created this psychological horror. It takes you on an unplanned adventure through a trailer park. Opossum Country can be played in browsers or via a Game Boy emulator.

Opossum Country: The game story

Your character, a food delivery man, is just another day at work when he is sent to a remote trailer site on the outskirts a dark forest. You have lost the receipt and don't know who the delivery belongs too. You ask around but you discover something sinister about the characters that you meet.

You are feeling uneasy and want to leave but you meet a mysterious girl. After you see her digging through the trash, she disappears. Soon, you uncover nightmarish clues. To survive, you'll need to keep your wits on you and focus your efforts. The real horror is only revealed at the end.

A creepy aesthetic

Opossum Country takes only 15 minutes to complete, but it's a rollercoaster ride that will take you on an incredible journey filled with bizarre discoveries of all kinds. The intriguing storyline is enhanced by the pixel art of Ben Jelter, which brings the characters to life. The creepy soundtrack is the cherry on the cake and completes the creepy aesthetic.

It's easy to play

It doesn't matter if you're playing this horror game as a browser or on a Game Boy emulator, the controls are very simple. To move around, you can use the WASD keys or the direction arrows. The Enter key is equivalent to GB's Start' button, while the Z key is GB's A' button.

The 'B' button is represented by the X key. These controls will allow you to talk to NPCs, interact and fire your weapon. You might also enjoy Water Womb World or The Librarian if you like this horror title. These pixelated games in GB are each terrifying in their own way.

A twist at the end

Opossum Country is short but it has a unique plotline and a dark aesthetic that make it a memorable gaming experience. The pixel art characters look incredible and the controls are simple to use. These features make the unexpected endings so much more poignant.
