MDB Viewer Plus – The missing piece in Access

I was searching for a free MDBViewer Plus download a few years back. It was there, but the software was not free. Instead, I received a free spyware program that tried to scare my mind into purchasing the software upgrade. But I didn’t. What's the deal?

MDB Viewer Plus is actually quite good. Microsoft has created some great tools for MS Access and MDB files. Some people struggle to understand Access's "read/write" behavior, especially when working with MDB files. To create an MDB view in Access, first open an MDB viewer in a favorite editor like notepad or outlook. Next, select the "rowset", or "view" command to bring up the view pane. Drag the columns and drop the data that you wish to move into your custom SQL database. To move the data into the table specified, select "row" and "table". Sometimes you will need to copy or move data between views. Access can make it difficult to edit the data model view directly.

You will need a tool that allows you to select "edit" in your data model view. This will then allow you to move the data from the custom data model view into the appropriate view. You can find many such tools, including Advanced Access Project, Drupel and DataNumen. All you have to do is search Google for them. You will need to specify the properties for each cell in the view pane in order to correctly insert the data into the tables and views. Access should allow you to drag and drop cells from your custom MDB views into the appropriate tables and views.
