Pixelated adventure game
Lianthus is a hidden gem that features both skeletons and sunflowers. To get rid of the rising darkness, you must travel.
Cute art styleThis game's most distinctive feature is its adorable, pixelated art style. The entire universe uses 2D Pixel Art. However, thanks to a clever mechanic, the world rotates to reveal hidden features while keeping the flat imagery. Low resolution and lack of detail create charm and highlight any details by using more colours to design a character or an area.
Simple gameplayYou'll be running around, fighting a few enemies, a boss, solving a few minor puzzles and talking to NPCs for most of the game. This world is in perfect harmony with the game's art style. It's not an intense experience but an enjoyable one.
Explore both sidesYou'll notice that the two sides of Lianthus you can explore as you play the game will have symbolic meaning. This is up to interpretation. However, you can come to any conclusion. The brighter side of Lianthus feels happier and more peaceful than the darker side. It's filled with deep colors of the night, which will suit your character's skeletal design.
Interesting charactersThe character designs are the same as the rest of this game's art style, seamlessly blending them into the world. You can speak to them and they will display a few lines of dialogue before you can move again. The characters in-game do not have an audio voice.
Simple combatLianthus' combat is extremely simple, unlike the Hyper Light Drifter's where you would need to understand how enemies attack and the combat system. You can fight enemies by running around the magical world throwing bones and avoiding them. This is a very different approach to the rest of the adorable world and flavorful NPCs you'll encounter along the way. They'll often only give a few words before you leave.
