Icy Tower is a simple, free software video game that uses the popular "hover-scrolling” genre. You play the role a cyber knight and launch ground-shaking attacks against other castles using a variety weapons, such as the sword or axe, mace, or even a lance. As you progress through the game, you'll unlock new weapons and levels to defeat your opponents. Free Lunch Design, a small Swedish development company, developed the game. They are well-known for their board and puzzle games. You can download the Icy Tower PC Demo (which it is), and get a full version of Icy Tower for free. This will allow you to explore the Icy Tower world and use the game to its full potential.

Icy Tower is different than other games of its type in that it is not only timed but also has many hidden features, puzzles, and challenges that will keep you on your toes as you progress through the game. You will be challenged by the grappling hook which allows you to pull down towers higher than you. Another skill is the ability to swing and grapple through the air. This allows you to quickly move around the environment and hit your opponents whenever they least expect it. These moments are what make the game so enjoyable, even though Icy Tower doesn't always pay enough attention.

Icy Tower is also unique in that it uses an icy tower mechanic. This allows you to fall at an increasing speed and eventually slide off a platform below you, into an abyss. This mechanic is similar to Sonic the Hedgehog's downloadable title. Icy Tower is therefore more complete. Although your speed drops significantly when you play on an icy tower, it is not as important as knowing where you are going. This is why Icy Tower combines the platforming and jumping aspects so well.
