Daniel Linssen created Holey Hell during Ludum Dare 48. It was 54th out of nearly a thousand entries. It's a Windows 10 game that you can download for free.

Despite its ominous name, Holey Hell has a lot of colour. Each level has a different circle that helps you distinguish between levels. The levels are all circular and inspired by the circles in Dante's Inferno. This makes it very unusual. You might also enjoy Brave Dog's Road and Passing By, which are both platform games.

It is, in essence. It's a platformer, but with a twist. Holey Hell offers circular levels instead of horizontal scrolling.

You will run around the circles of Hell collecting keys to advance to the next level.

You will need to avoid spikes that rise from the perimeter of the circle, and white globules that are being sprayed from the circle's edges. Airborne dangers exist, too. To avoid flying frogs, ships, rockets, and birds, you'll need to time the run carefully.

Grab the key and return to the door. You'll then enter the next level. It is smaller in diameter so there are fewer obstacles and more room for maneuvering.

The keyboard controls are easy to use. The cursor keys can be used to move left or right, and spacebar to jump.

We have never seen a circular platformer before. It's almost a contradiction of terms, but that's what Holey Hell is.

You only have five lives so you need to be fast and precise in your running and jumping.
