If your device has less 8GB RAM, you will only get a spinning screen with pixelated graphics. The video would be pixelated and not show much of what's happening. This video can only be made to work if it is specifically made in 360 mode.

GOM's sleek design is complemented by a user-friendly interface. It's easy to find what you need - navigation is straightforward. It's far better than Winamp or PotPlayer in this regard. The developer was clever enough to compress most configurations into the right-click of the mouse.

GOM can play most file types, including MP3, MP4, AVI and MKV. You can also play files that are not available in other programs. When you open it, the file's extension will be converted to ASX. This is because everything you save through this app becomes ASX. It is best to keep one default extension if you have multiple media players. GOM can be set as your default player at any time, including during installation.

This app doesn't automatically play files from a specific folder. You can't even choose a default folder where files will be loaded. You would need to manually choose the songs you want from the folder you keep them. Worse, every time you close the app, all of your songs will be deleted and you would have to upload them again. You can prevent this by saving them to a playlist. These playlists will then be saved as ASX files in a folder. You can then listen to the music again. This is a tedious process that makes other apps much more appealing.

GOM offers a wide range of UI controls. There are so many options that you won't know where to start. You can adjust the aspect ratio in the app to fit different screen sizes. This doesn't affect the quality of your playback and most users will watch a movie in fullscreen.

This app allows you to play a file at specific frame rates. You can also navigate between media by using small frames. This is especially useful when you are watching security footage or listening to recorded voice clips. All these configurations don't clutter the interface. You can access them by clicking the right mouse button.

If the developers had spent more time on it, the 360 VR mode could have been a great feature. This mode doesn't offer much except for a pixelated screen which divides as you rotate around. The experience is slightly better if you have 360 video. However, there are apps that can play 360 videos much better than GOM.

GOM's poor performance is not compensated by the extensive customization. The playback quality isn’t as good as they claim. Popular media players such as VLC Media Player and WMP play your music at maximum sound card capacity. GOM doesn't. The audio is very low and there doesn't seem to be any bass.

It would be tempting to use the browsing app for YouTube videos. Although this is a great feature, it can eat up a lot of data. GOM is not a good place to stream videos. It can increase your bandwidth and RAM, which will make your device much slower.

Ads are another problem. Pop-up ads will appear whenever you close the GOM Player. These pop-up ads can be disabled in the settings, but they are still annoying.

GOM has too many adjustments. This is the biggest problem. The developers seem to have eaten more than they can chew. GOM features will be largely ignored, and the resources required to run them will be lost. Groove Music, VLC and other apps are popular because of their simplicity. However, this app is not something you want running in the background. Many users enjoy listening to their music while they do other tasks. If those tasks aren't very time-consuming or data-intensive, you might experience lag.

You may also find other software included in the GOM Audio, GOM Mix, and GOM encoder free downloads. You have the option to install additional applications such as GOM Audio, GOM mix, and GOM encoder. This would spam your device and cause unnecessary installation.

GOM offers customization and playback options. There are better options for those who want to listen to music or watch offline videos.
