How do I get databack?
Many people believe they can retrieve DataBack from their Windows computers if there is bad sector damage or a bad boot. Even with the best software, this is often not enough to accomplish the task. You will need to take additional steps if you want to retrieve your data from an existing Windows computer. These actions, although not required, can significantly increase your chances of getting back your data.
Install GetDataBack on a Windows computer that is not affected by the damaged drive. Next, check the available memory space to store the files you want to restore from the old drive. Next, attach the new drive to the primary partition of your hard drive and install GetData backups into the secondary partitions. Most cases, you won't need to restart your computer in order to complete the installation.
Now that you have your backup software installed, it's time to do a logical rebuild of your hard drive. Logical reconstruction will attempt to rebuild data using all available information. After successfully reconstructed your drive you will see a whole sector of free space beginning at the end where the file was saved. If you are unable to find the file in the free space, you can use the search option to search the data. You should delete the file once you have found it. This will ensure that it doesn't go to waste and you have a single file that isn't corrupted or overwritten.
