The basic layout consists of two virtual turntables with a mixing console in the middle. Each deck has its own pitch, just like a real turntable. The console also features a loops-and-effects console, three cues, and a progress bar. The console also features a three-range equalizer and individual volume controls. The application is easy to use and includes a few cool features, such as an automix function which allows you to fade into tracks. You can also control the style and duration of fades. It supports MIDI controllers.

Gemini Groove has its flaws, however. Gemini Groove's interface is not intuitive and is a bit clumsy. There aren't many effects available, no skinning is available and auto BPM is not available. Despite this, the interface is easy to use and the cross-fader works well. It's a good starter application for anyone who wants to get into mixing.
