Freac is a free Open Source audio converter app that you can use if you don't mind working with a simple interface. Freac's simple interface hides powerful open-source conversion encoders that can quickly convert audio files to a wide range of formats.
Freac can convert audio files from a variety of formats. It can also rip audio CDs. The app can access the CDDB online database to automatically populate metadata attached to media files. This allows them to be organized in a correct manner in your media library. This saves you a lot of time and effort in manually adding the data.
Freac also includes a few useful tools and configurable features such as a built in media player with standard functionality, play, pause and stop, and skip next and skip past.
You can save content by choosing a default directory, selecting the encoder that you need, applying audio filters such as High-pass and Low-pass, creating playlists and cue sheets and installing plugins. You can also edit ID3 tags. If you need to, you can even batch process files.
Freac supports many formats, including.MP3,.Bonk..WMA..MP4/M4A..AAC..Ogg.Vorbis..FLAC. It offers a wide range of configurable options and is available in more than 36 languages.
