The mechanics of the game are still sound. The controls are not faulty so you won't have any problems. The problem is that it can't be played on Windows 7 and beyond, which makes it very difficult to use.

This FIFA has the first online multiplayer mode. The sound effects are still some of the best in series history. It was also the first to include the ability to use tactics within the engine.

The AI and players act very realistically when compared to their real-world counterparts. EA also introduced a Manager system. It is very limited. This has allowed for the continuous improvement and addition of new modes of play.

There are many FIFA games available, some of which are very successful while others fail. The 2018 edition saw significant improvements that 07 cannot even match.

Graphics have been greatly improved. The Ultimate Team mode and negotiations for players have been greatly improved. It was a refreshing take on the series.

FIFA's main competitor is Pro Evolution Soccer (PES 2018). It has better ball control and a more challenging play style than 07 does. They have less licensing, which allows them to continue to win and lose important teams.

07 was once a must-have. It is no longer worth the effort with all the new versions available. It won't work on any of the older Windows computers. It is not as timeless as some programs and falls short of any other game after 2012.
