Free Windows horror game demo

[ECHOSTASIS] Prologue, a horror game for the first-person, was designed by Jamie Gavin. The game centers around you, the Enigma Research and Development lead engineer. You find yourself testing a new device that generates an immersive experimental simulation that allows its users to escape into their personalized algorithmically-generated utopias.

The cyber-attack on the company headquarters is launched during the process, putting lives at risk. It is up to you to save them. You can download the demo game for free and play it on your Windows PC. Similar games to ECHOSTASIS are The Talos Principle and The Medium, as well as Brandon Cronenberg’s Possessor.

Storyline

Echostasis Prologue explores the human relationship to technology and reality. It examines the topic AI control over human life and gives a glimpse into a world in which this control can turn against us.

You're an engineer working on an immersive simulation project that allows users to create their personalized algorithmically-generated utopian worlds called Echoes. The project is hacked by a mysterious cyber-attack that threatens the lives and safety of test subjects.

You must perform a cerebral hijack into their Echo Worlds to solve the problem and save them. To enter their Echo, you use a Dreamscape machine. The Echo world appears idyllic at first. It has everything one could ever need. But not everything is as it seems. The more you stay in this world, it becomes a nightmare.

Gameplay

You play the role of the player and navigate through the worlds created by the fragmented minds of Echo program test subjects. The game's environments include visual artifact-rich worlds and a Myst-inspired Art Deco hub at Enigma headquarters.

You can advance by finding bracketed keyword prompts scattered around and typing them into a terminal at the center of the headquarters hub.

Soundtrack

Karl Barnes composed the soundtrack. It was created to evoke the 1980s' nauseating optimism by mixing up some upbeat music to be a little more off.

There are many horror worlds to explore

[ECHOSTASIS] The Prologue offers a glimpse into a simulation utopia in which a hacker AI takes control and turns it into a nightmare. To find keywords and problems, you must navigate through a variety of worlds that have been created by fracturing minds. This horror experience is a must-try for first-person horror fans. The soundtrack and graphics are perfect.
