PlayStation for Windows 10

Connor McLaughlin developed DuckStation. It is available as a free download for Windows 10. It can be used as an emulator to create a PlayStation gaming experience on your computer. Emulators can be very draining on your computer's resources.

This software allows you to play your favorite PlayStation games on your Windows PC. The emulator package doesn't contain a BIOSROM Image. There are also PSSPP and PCSX2.

Download, install, then set up

The zip file for Windows x64 builds can be downloaded to a location you choose. Extract the files to a folder and launch DuckStation using the exe file. Copy one or more PlayStation BIOS images into the bios directory. You can also save it in portable mode to the documents directory.

You can add directories to the Qt frontend by clicking Setting', then add game directory'. The last step is to choose a game from the list, or to open a disc-image file. You are now ready to play.

DuckStation features

DuckStation allows you to upscale, text filtering, as well as 24-bit actual color. It supports direct download of portable sound format (PSF), and image files such bin/cue, raw bin/img, and MAME-CHD formats. It allows you to use either analogue or digital controllers to input content and scan it for game titles. It supports hardware and software rendering, and includes an adaptive downsampling filter.

To skip the BIOS intro, Qt and NoGui frontends on the desktop, use 'fastboot' Software updates automatically. Switching memory cards for different games can be done at your own discretion. It emulates CPU Overclocking and allows remote debugging. DuckStation supports multitap controllers up to eight devices.

Namco GunCon lightgun support via mouse simulation is available. It can load cheats from Libretro or PCSXR format lists and can load and apply PPF patch.

For beginners, it's challenging

DuckStation allows you to play PlayStation games on your Windows 10 PC. To play your PlayStation games, you will need a BIOSROM Image. Although there are many configuration options available, it can be difficult for beginners to navigate.
