Emulator for console games

DS4Windows is an emulator for Xbox 360 on Windows computers. The desktop application requires Microsoft.NET4.5, Microsoft 360 driver and a Sony Playstation DualShock 4 Controller. The program simulates playing DualShock 4 on your console once it is installed. DS4Windows's interface is simple and guides you through the process. Although the original game was created for DualShock, the emulator can be used to play other Xbox compatible games. You can swap between the settings for your controller with its built-in profile system.

The installation of DS4Windows takes only a few minutes. DS4Windows is a ZIP file that can be downloaded and has an executable file within. The EXE file will take you to the DS4Windows Welcome Window, where you'll find the Install the DS4 driver button. If you are running Windows 7 or later, you will also see an Install 360 Driver. This button must be clicked only. After the installation is complete, click Finish and then select Settings from the menu bar.

The DS4Windows Settings will allow you to access the Device configuration.

This program allows you to connect your PS4 controller with your computer. It is possible to connect your controller via Bluetooth or USB. If you want to connect a wireless PS4 controller, choose Bluetooth in DS4Windows. After you have pressed PS and shared on the controller, the device should appear on your screen. Once the device appears, click Pair. You should not close the DS4Windows program or press X. Instead, press minimize to stop the program from being shut down.

DS4Windows will open by presenting five tabs: Profiles Auto Profiles Settings and Log. The main page of DS4Windows is the Controllers tab. It lists all controllers connected to your computer. This section displays the controller's ID and connection information, as well as the battery life and selected profiles. Profiles are pre-set settings for your controller, such as shift modifiers and special actions. You can also indicate whether you want the device act as a mouse, or as a gaming controller.

Auto Profiles differ from Profiles in that it is a list or games you have connected to DS4Windows. This tab allows you to add a game or program to DS4Windows by clicking Add Programs. The game's logo, title and file path should be displayed on the list. The controller ranks, listed as Controller 1 through 4, are located to the right of the tab. You can choose which profile should automatically be applied to a particular game from the dropdown menu.

DS4Windows offers a middle ground between playing on a console and using a keyboard to play PC gaming. You can play both PC and Xbox games on your handheld device. It offers many customization options but its user interface is simple and straightforward. This allows you create the system that you want for a particular game.
