How to use the DNS Benchmark to your advantage
A DNS Benchmark is a quick way to test the performance of your DNS setup. It is possible to optimize your DNS setup before you can actually test it. To download the program, click here or on the graphic. GRC's DNS Benchmark has many features that will satisfy even the most demanding Internet Guru (as the benchmark has features specifically designed to help serious DNS Performance investigation), but the accompanying box below demonstrates that it is also very simple for casual users.
You can view the DNS Benchmark results immediately after they are generated by running it on your computer. This tool will generate a list of servers that satisfy certain criteria. Once you have identified servers you wish to benchmark, the benchmark tool will generate a list. It's that simple. It's easy and quick to install the command line parameters.
For example, the DNS Benchmark command line parameters can be executed as follows: grc DNS Benchmark DNS server-ip-list= SERVICEER-ADDRESS, SERVER-TYPE= SERVER–ADDRESS-HOST nameservers tab = true, false These parameters will allow you to identify which servers are slow, which ones are quicker, and which ones respond the best to DNS requests. This tab displays how many IP addresses each server uses and how often these IP addresses change. If you don't need to see the IP addresses used by your DNS servers, it is a good idea not to enable this feature. This feature is usually set to "true" for simplicity.
