Uwe-sieber is responsible for the free Device Cleanup Tool on Windows PCs. It is compatible with Windows 8 as well as Windows 10. It's compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 10.
Each piece of hardware attached to your computer leaves an entry under 'Device Management. Windows allows you to remove them one at a while, but Device Cleanup Tool allows you to delete entries or devices that are no longer attached to your computer. Eusing Cleaner, Optimizer, and other cleaning tools are also available.
Why use Device Cleanup ToolEach USB device that you connect to your Windows PC creates registry entry in your 'Device Manager. Hackers could use these registry entries to gather information about any hardware connected to your computer. This tool, unlike Windows Device Manager allows you to delete multiple entries at once.
Download and installYou can download the ZIP file to keep the utility handy on a flash drive. After extracting and running the file, you will see a simple user interface with three options: File (Devices), Options, Options, and Help.
How to useThere are a few options available under the "File" tab.
You can select all or remove any selections from the 'Devices tab.
You can choose to keep Windows software on top or disable it using Options. You can also choose the columns to display and, under 'Devices, you can select how you want entries to appear. The Help tab displays the 'About’ information.
It displays a list non-present items under the toolbar. Details such as item name and class, as well as when it was last used, It will display at the bottom how much non-present hardware is available, and how many you have selected.
You can also view the item's properties from the right-click menu. Click on the CTRL key to select entries. Next, right-click and choose "Remove Device". You must run the software as an administrator to remove entries in restricted mode.
