DAEMON Tools Light is a free imaging program that allows you to create copies of CDs or DVDs to store on your Microsoft Windows Windows PC. DAEMON-Tools can create images on your computer of physical discs. The intuitive user interface allows you to mount images, create files, organize archives, and even organize them.
Is DAEMON Tools Light free?The DAEMON Tools Download is free for Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP and Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems. The cross-platform solution can be downloaded on your Windows PC and Mac OS.
The free version includes adware from third party partners, but the paid editions are ad-free: DAEMON Tools Lite Personal and DAEMON Tools Pro. The free program will provide limited technical support, while the paid services will provide 24/7 tech support.
Although you cannot create bootable devices using the Lite versions of DAEMON, you can use the Ultra and Pro DAEMON disc tool to boot drives: USB sticks, hard disks, etc. DAEMON can create TrueCrypt and VHD archives with all platforms, except the freeware.
You will need the Personal or Ultra to add a RAM drive. The 'Burn" option is only available to Personal, Pro, or Ultra DAEMON apps. It allows you to burn data, images, as well as discs. You will need to purchase a software package if you need to manage images, such as creating, converting, or editing files.
The Personal and Ultra packs allow you to share files from your PC program to a mobile app using a local wireless connection. The DAEMON Tools Lite classic interface will display the advanced features, but the buttons will remain locked.
What is the purpose of the Daemon ToolA wide range of disc image types can be accessed. DAEMON Tools free allows you to mount your TrueCrypt or VHD container. MDS, MDX and ISO files can be created. You can also grab images from optical disks and save them in an organised catalog. You can mount up to four DT, HDD or SCSI devices simultaneously using the free service.
The UI's bottom section shows you which devices are currently mounted. It is located next to the "Quick Mount" option. The main window contains the command prompts. The 'Catalog" icon will allow you to create disc image files or iSCSI targets. To connect to other devices via a local network connection or the Internet, you can access the iSCSI interface.
You can modify mount guidelines and virtual drives by clicking on 'Drives'. You can customize the user experience by clicking on 'Settings. You can change the theme colour by switching from dark to light. To upgrade to premium offers, click the "License" button to review your subscription preferences.
Only the paid packages provide IDE emulation and bootable images. DAEMON Tools Lite is safe to use, but there are concerns about MountSpace, a service that developers created to collect user data.
Alternative virtual drivesAlcohol 120, PowerISO and UltraISO are similar virtual CD/DVD drives that allow you to mount images and rip discs. To create bootable devices, such as drives, disks, and so on, you can use PowerISO or UltraISO. All the programs allow you to burn ISO images onto CDs, DVDs, or Blue-Ray disks. These apps can provide virtual backups of media such as data archives and physical discs.
Virtual CloneDrive is freeware and can be used without a subscription. However, Alcohol 120, PowerISO and UltraISO are trialware. These virtual devices can only be used for a short time before you have to pay. All utilities are available on the Microsoft Windows OS.
Simple optical media emulation applicationDAEMON Tools Lite, a popular emulator, can create virtual copies of physical disks for you to keep on your computer or laptop. DAEMON allows you to manage your emulated files from the UI. You can mount different image formats, such as ISO. DAEMON developers also offer additional programs, such as Catch, reWASD and others.
Paid subscriptions provide lifetime updates for multiple computers. You can still upgrade the free version to the latest software release. To improve the user experience, developers release new software updates frequently.
