D-Fend Reloaded for Windows

D-Fend Reloaded provides a graphical environment to DOSBox. D-Fend Reloaded, a successor to D-Fend (now retired), is D-Fend Reloaded. Both environments look the same, and D-Fend Reloaded includes all features of DFend. You can also use the D-Fend configuration files.

DOSBox emulates a computer and can run almost all DOS-based games on modern hardware. However, DOSBox setup was still complicated. For novice users, the configuration of DOSBox via text-based setup files may be difficult. D-Fend Reloaded is here to help. These files can be created with it.

Additionally, the D-Fend Reloaded package also contains the DOSBox app (including all current language files), so there is only one installation and no need for DOSBox to be linked manually.

Features

It's easy to get started: The D-Fend Reloaded installation provides everything you need for old DOS games (D–Fend Reloaded GUI and DOSBox), language files, FreeDos commandline utilities, and D-Fend Reloaded GUI. During the first start of D-Fend Reloaded everything is set up automatically.Searching and sorting games: D-Fend Reloaded contains many service tools to keep the overview even in large game archives. You can filter games by genre and year of publication. You can also do find-as you-type searches. You can create a data folder for manuals and other documents for each game. The profile wizard allows you to create new profiles. Templates for different game types can be integrated. They only require the name and path of the game to be input. D-Fend Reloaded can deinstall complete games and allow you to copy games from one installation to the next. D-Fend Reloaded can also create installer packs that allow you to transfer games to other computers. This feature requires NSIS. You can also archive or transfer complete games to zip or 7z files using the built-in zip support. Multilingual support: DOSBox, D-Fend Reloaded and DOSBox are multilingual. The installer package contains all current language files. D-Fend Reloaded automatically sets up the DOSBox keyboard layout which refers to the language chosen for D-Fend Reloaded.Compatibility: D-Fend Reloaded can read D-Fend and DBFrondend config files. D-Fend Reloaded runs in Windows Vista without administrator rights.

This package includes D-Fend 1.4.4 (Brazilian Portuguese and Czech, Danish, Dutch; English, French, German), Italian, Polish, Russian. Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, & Turkish), DOSBox 0.74, which includes all current language files, and the FreeDos command-line tools.
