Windows users can explore the free space for their own use

Are you interested in astronomy and space exploration? Would you like to explore the outer reaches of space? While we wait for Elon Musk's commercial space flight to be developed, we'll settle for a simulation. Cosmonium, a free open-source software that lets you explore the mysteries of the universe from the comfort of your office chair, is free and available for download.

Explore the stars and control time

Cosmonium allows you to search the vastness and beauty of space by either free-roaming or using specific searches. Space is vast. While it may be tempting to play the role space explorer, it's probably better to search for specific locations.

The time is set to the current day-night cycle. However, you can change it to see what the earth looks like in different phases. You can use the menu to decrease, increase, or freeze the time. You have complete control over the time.

Learn more about keyboard shortcuts

Cosmonium is the program for you if you have always loved learning. The program provides general information about any celestial body, whether it's a star, planet, or other type of celestial body. This includes the name, location, atmosphere, clouds, rings, polar radius, and many other details.

This is the ideal open-source software to help students of the stars. To make exploration easier, you can use Shift or F1 to access the keyboard shortcuts.

System requirements

Cosmonium is a large download, at just over 280 MB. Before the installation can be downloaded, it will need over 500 MB of space. A decent graphics card must be capable of running OpenGL 2.1+. If your computer is capable of handling them, you can also install HD or UHD textures.

Going beyond

Cosmonium, a fascinating application, is similar to No Man's Sky because it allows you to explore space. We anticipate that there will be many more features. This software is worth a look if you find yourself constantly looking at the wiki pages for different planets and discussing space exploration with your friends.
