Color Efex Pro is a new addition to the Nik Software Collection. It's an easy-to-use, highly customizable, and fully-customizable painting program. Color Efex Pro is different than other similar software packages in that it offers a flexible feature set that allows users the ability to add third-party plug-ins to expand its capabilities. Color Efex Pro incorporates the Color Effects Engine (C EE), which is one of the most advanced technology in a computer application. C EE technology allows users to draw almost any image with over 50 effects. You can control the Color Effects Engine with a simple touch-sensitive pad, or remotely.

Nik Software's Color Efex Pro lets photographers add text, logos and clipart to images in full color or in grayscale. The color effects allow the photographer to adjust the hue, brightness and saturation as well as contrast. These capabilities allow you to create professional-looking images without the need for color-conversion software.

The greatest strength of Color Efex Pro lies in its large collection of filters. There are hundreds upon hundreds of filters, including Nik PhotoShop filters that can be used to retouch photos in Lightroom, Photoshop and Aperture; advanced Photoshop filters like Smart Sharpen, Feather and others. Color Efex Pro also has built-in editing capabilities compatible with DVD and Blu-ray. This makes it great for editing on the move. The interface is intuitive and easy-to-use, with one touch operation. This makes it easy to adjust settings as needed.
