An open-source web browser
Chromium is an open-source version the popular Google Chrome. It is the development build they use to keep the web up-to-date. It is different but it is still the same as regular Chrome.
User InterfaceChromium is very similar to Chrome because they are both based on Chromium OS. It has the all-in one tab that includes the setting and bookmarks. It does not have a scrolling mechanism to allow you to switch between tabs when you have too many open.
FeaturesChromium's main feature is the ability to sync all of your Google account information with it. This software is great for developers and extension developers.
It also allows the user to use a variety of extensions to make their life easier. Google Translate is pre-loaded into your browser. It is safe and does not contain viruses.
ProblemsIt is not up-to-date. You must ensure that your version is always up-to-date. It can be difficult to find the right upgrade because there are many versions online.
Although the browser is the fastest, it takes a lot of RAM. If you have many tabs open, this problem can worsened.
AlternativesGoogle Chrome is the most similar competitor. Chromium is better than Chrome if you don't need an open-source program.
Firefox is another great choice. Although it doesn't offer the same ease-of-use, it is more concerned about your security. Mozilla Firefox is the right choice if you are concerned about losing your data or want a program that uses less RAM.
Not necessaryChromium is inferior because it does not add value to Chrome. It only comes with a few complications that won't provide any additional benefits for personal use. It is similar to Google's browser, but with the experimental build component. It is not something you should have.
