A powerful and sleek first-person shooter game
Call of Duty World at War, one of a long list of COD first person shooter games, is the latest in a long line. This is a World War II-themed game that features the vehicles and weapons of the time. It is one of the older Call of Duty games but it still uses the same gun and object physics as Modern Warfare.
As you would expect, the plot follows the same pattern: Axis powers are bad, allied power good. It features a co-op mode, several cinematic moments, as well as scripted moments such attacks by tree-top-snipers and unexpected kamikaze strikes. The multiplayer aspect of the game is very similar to Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, but it has more realistic COD.
Is Call of Duty World at War?Although this classic wartime game has been freed on several occasions, these are usually promotional events. COD World at War remains a paid game which helps to finance the online multiplayer servers.
This is the World War 2 version, not to be confused by the Great War segments in Black Ops 2 or 3.
Is Call of Duty World at War historical accurate? This game is not historically accurate. It is inaccurate in how guns work, how they are used and how it stages conflicts. It makes WW2 seem much more exciting and dynamic than it was.
Gaming with modern graphics engines: Old-gen gaming. This game was released in 2008, but the gaming engine used to make Call of Duty Modern Warfare is still the same. Although the graphics in COD World at War are not as advanced, the game's mechanics and physics were years ahead of their time.
Although you may be familiar with what to expect from a Call of Duty shooter, the World at War game captures that gritty feel that modern shooters lack. It combines the modern action of Call of Duty and the atmospheric sensibilities of Medal of Honour.
