Boxcryptor for Windows

Cloud storage is all the rage. It seems that everyone is embracing cloud storage. Everyone, except for the extremely security-conscious. Boxcryptor is a great option for you if you fall into that category.

People are becoming more aware of the extra security offered by'secure' services and applications. Boxcryptor, a next-generation 'on disk’ encryption tool, aims to achieve exactly that.

The service takes files stored in cloud locations and encrypts them using AES256 and RSA encryption algorithms to protect the data. Install the Boxcryptor app and choose the cloud platforms you want to encrypt. You can also select filename encryption (not included in the free version). Once any new files are saved to the Boxcryptor drive they will be encrypted automatically. To encrypt existing files, simply right-click on them in Explorer or Finder to enable encryption. To unlock the Boxcryptor folder, view your files, and to run the BoxCryptor application, simply navigate to the encrypted folder, and enter your password.

Boxcryptor supports almost every cloud storage provider: One Drive, One Drive Business and Google Drive. Boxcryptor also supports Box, Amazon S3, CloudMe and Yandex.
