Bookworm Adventures – Fun and Learning
PopCap Games' Bookworm is a puzzle-like word-form game. Click letters to form words using a grid of open letters. Match the colored dots with the right position on the square. As words are formed, their positions become visible and empty spaces are filled in. The word that is drawn is the one that begins with the letter in upper left corner. The goal of a player is to find all words formed using the available space by finding the correct sequences of letters. The game ends when the player runs out of words.
Bookworm adventures, like other pop-culture games, requires that tiles are selected using either the keyboard or mouse. While tiles look like real leaves in a garden, bookworm tiles are shaped like worms (arrows), and filled with holes (cubes). By placing your mouse over a hole in a file, it will expand and cause the tiles adjacent to it to collapse. Popcap games offer a variety of shapes, including worm and butterfly. These two shapes can be combined to create worm trails, and caterpillars can pass through holes to become butterfly shapes.
Bookworm can be both fun and challenging for adults and children. To create words, tiles must be chosen correctly. This will make people stop and take notice. Once words are created, it is time to figure out the meaning of the words. Bookworm can be used to teach by using it as a teaching tool. You can place the game on a chalkboard, and draw words and pictures that are related to the subject. Children will be able to create longer sentences with fewer strokes and develop a better understanding of how a sentence looks.
