Free Bengali language typing software

Bijoy Bayanno, a free utility program that allows you to type the Bengali alphabet using keyboards that accept Roman letters, is available for download. Bengali, also known as Bangla, is one of many Indian dialects. Bijoy Bangla can be used on Microsoft Windows PC computers as well as laptops running Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. It is compatible with both 32-bit as well as 64-bit architectures.

What is Bijoy Bayanno?

Bijoy Bayanno allows you to use a QWERTY keyboard for the Bangla alphabet. The Bangla software allows you to type in many applications, including Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and internet browsers. This application was developed by Mustafa Jabbar.

The cross-platform app can be downloaded and installed on both Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows. The freeware is lightweight so it won't take up too much of your computer's resources. Follow the instructions on the screen to install Bijoy Bayanno.

The installer will choose a folder to save your software to. To install the app to another location, click on the "Browse" button. You can choose between two safety options to control who can access the platform: 'Everyone or 'Just Me'.

Accepting the license agreement will allow you to choose the "I Agree" option to continue. The progress of the installation will be displayed on a loading bar. A window will then appear that informs you that Bijoy Bayanno is successfully installed.

An activation code will be included in the official software download. This code will need to be entered into the "Registration Form" screen in order to use the service. The activation key link will appear in five boxes. After entering the password, you can click the 'Activate’ button.

How do I set up my Bijoy keyboard

The Bijoy Bayanno utility can be found in the Start Menu on your desktop. If Bijoy isn't automatically listed in the program list, you can manually type the title into the search bar to open its user interface. The UI will appear as a toolbar at the top of your screen.

The logo will appear to the left side of the dropdown menu. Expand the menu to see all the typing options: English, Bijoy Classic, Bijoy Unicode, and Unicode. To change the interface design, tap on the green Arrow to send the commands to your taskbar at bottom of screen.

Click on the icon in the system tray to see the same text options. To revert to a popup UI, you can press 'Show as Topbar. Drag and drop the GUI to any area you prefer on the desktop if you wish to move the graphical user interface.

To type words in Bangla, you can choose from 'Bijoy Unicode,' or 'Bijoy classic' from the dropdown menu. You will need to change your font if you are using Microsoft Office. You can choose any one of the Bengali characters within the font menu. The keyboard will automatically translate the letters you type to Bangla characters.

Each typeface option in the Bijoy dropdown menu will show a different font style. You can switch between these styles easily by expanding the arrow and selecting a new typeface.

Avro is open-source software that can be adapted to various system requirements, including Android, iOS, Linux and Mac. Both Bijoy as well as Avro offer GUIs that allow you to use the utilities from the system tray or toolbar. The tools are small in size.

Avro offers additional features that make it appealing. There are more font options. You can also change the font styles by tapping the font box. Avro allows you to see the Bangla language on a virtual keyboard.
