Replace the default indicator battery
Is your Windows battery indicator not working properly? Battery Mode could solve this problem. For more information, including customization options, backlight control, and a simplified power scheme selection, download Battery Mode. Artem Tarasov created this freeware to solve a common problem.
Change your power schemeIt is easy to change your current power scheme by simply opening the pop-up window that displays information about your battery. You have the option to choose from power saver, high-performance or balanced mode. When your laptop is not plugged into an outlet, power saver mode will help you conserve your battery. It reduces brightness and CPU speed, and generally limits background activities.
High-performance mode, on the other hand, increases your screen brightness and allows you to run your CPU at a higher speed. This feature is not recommended if your laptop is plugged into an outlet as it consumes a lot of battery.
Backlight controlYou can adjust the backlight level from Battery Mode, regardless of whether it is for an internal or external monitor. You can also disable or activate adaptive brightness. This means that the brightness settings will automatically adjust based on the lighting conditions in the room. This feature will not be available on all devices as it requires your device to be able to detect light levels.
Hotkeys and command-line commandsBattery Mode allows you to select different settings, including the ability to change your power plan without ever opening the pop-up window. For a variety of options, you can also use the program's command-line commands.
You can switch to power saving mode by using Economy, which is for balanced mode, or Performance, which is for high-performance mode. To get detailed information on all commands, you can use the Help command.
Fix the problemBattery Mode is a great tool that makes it easy to access various features from a pop-up menu or via hotkeys. It solves a nagging problem with Windows' interface that can sometimes feel impossible to fix.
