AppLocker Protects and Enhances Server Performance and Workflow Performance
AppLocker is a Windows security tool that protects your workstations, corporate desktop computers, and computer servers from unauthorized access by hackers or other unauthorized users. AppLocker is a virtualization tool that authenticates, verifies and guards the integrity of all applications on your computer. It acts as an isolation protector for virtualized servers and protects applications on the host, client computer and other workstations. AppLocker (IPsec), a unique technology, prevents unauthorized access to other computers on the same network. AppLocker features include:
An INI file can be used to disable the AppLocker server. If you're using Windows ME and want the AppLocker monitoring to stop, create an INI file. You can also disable the AppLocker service if Windows XP is turned on by using the /applocker switch. Disabling the AppLocker will cause you to lose AppLocker protection for all your installed apps. If you are reinstalling programs, the startup configuration should be deleted.
If a malicious user gains access, they can compromise your Windows security, especially if the AppLocker service has been disabled. Remote users can bypass AppLocker Sandboxing, execute arbitrary codes, raise the privilege level, prevent network logs, retrieve confidential data from your computer, monitor and collect email addresses from you mailbox. It prevents AppLocker scanning and ensures that no unauthorized users can install or run third-party apps. This is one of many ways to improve the performance of your server or workstations.
