Android-x86 is an Open Source project that port Android to the x86 platform. It was formerly known by the name 'patch hosting to android x86 support'. The original intention was to have different patches available for android x86 support. However, developers moved on to creating a code base that could provide support for different x86 platforms.

Android-x86 can also be installed on hard drives with the following file system: EXT3, EXT2, NTFS, FAT32. To co-exist with Windows, Android-x86 can be installed to an NTFS filesystem.
