Video and image capture software
AMCap is a webcam driver and webcam recorder that saves webcam content to your hard drive as MPEG2 and AVI. It is lightweight at 15 MB and supports most video-for Windows and Direct Show compatible devices. You can also take still images and apply effects to them. Effects include graphic overlay and alpha-blending. AMCap can be downloaded on any Windows computer with Windows SP1 or later.
FeaturesNoeld developed AMCap for Microsoft Windows. This video capture tool allows you to preview and record digital video sources. The preview will be available in MPEG-2 format, with recording enhancements. Real-time compression can be chosen to save the video while it is being recorded. However, this only applies to users who have third-party video compressors installed. You can save videos recorded on AMCap as AVI, WMV and MP4 container formats. However, this will depend upon the capture format. You can also set a persistence between each recording session.
Color space, output size, as well as video standard are all possible persistence settings. Your content can be displayed in a variety of video broadcasting formats when combined with the analog tuner. Previews can be displayed full-screen or AppBar on computers with touch screen. Additional features include the digital zoom controls, aspect ratio, video rotation, customization options, and video overlay. You can create your own video overlay to create templates for recurring videos layouts. Windowed mode can be activated for preview videos if you have captions.
Captions and bars can be hidden from your videos, so that the preview of the video is not visible above other videos. After the final video is recorded, you can choose your preferred video renderer. The program supports Free Video Renderer versions 7 and 9, as well as Enhanced Video Renderer. If necessary, you can render your videos with deinterlacing software. You can set up snapshots that are taken periodically during the creation of your video.
Limits on file sizeAMCap supports three file systems: FAT16/FAT32/NTFS. FAT32 files can be stored on USB flash drives, but they lack the permissions and security features of the NTFS file system. It can store only 4GB or less. ExFAT and NTFS files can compress large files. The difference between exFAT and NTFS is that exFAT files are compatible with operating systems released after 2006.
AMCap file sizes are dependent on the file system you choose and your Windows system. These are the file size limits:
FAT16: 2GB – 1 Byte
FAT16: 4GB – 1 Byte
FAT32: 4GB – 1 Byte
NTFS: 2TB – 1 Byte
Compact video capture applicationAMCap provides a wide range of video capture tools that will allow you to preview and record with your webcam or other camcorders. It supports Microsoft DirectShow, which allows it to deliver recordings suitable for TV broadcasts and other video platforms. AMCap increases the capabilities of your webcam/camera by allowing you to record and save all events in your computer.
