Interactive visual novel
NPCKC, a software enthusiast, created A Pet Shop After Dark. The interactive title features a frightening theme and creepy tunes. The story will be told through the eyes of a pet shop manager who meets unexpected companies.
Static sceneryAlthough the artwork is beautiful, you won't be able to go through as many scenes. You will be taken through several rooms, each one looking the same as its predecessor. There isn't much to explore, unlike games like Open Your Eyes and Demon Kiss. The storyline is also very mediocre and seems like the developer has spent a lot more time crafting it.
The playthrough is exactly what you would expect from an illustrated novel. It is also a lot of nothing. Reading seems to be the only activity that can be done. APSAD is missing in this area. Object interaction is often the main focus for these types of games.
There are many bugsThose who are only interested in the story should feel a little bit compensated for their thirty minutes. The game's major components don't work at all. APSAD's key element is to turn off the light, but the results are disappointing. The calling card is also useless. If you do manage to get to the bottom, there is a surprise waiting for you.
The horror theme is lackinglusterAPSAD has a creepy tune that adds to the terror atmosphere. Unfortunately, this is all the game has to offer in terms of scary. It has the suspense of horror games, i.e. It warns you about possible actions. All that effort is wasted if very few clickables actually work.
APSAD will make sure that you work hard to reach the endgame. It's also free to play. You can't complain about half an hour of gameplay or some good music.
