Microsoft offers a free pinball game
3D Pinball – Space Cadet is a pinball game that's free and has a difference. Instead of trying to score the highest score by hitting the various points on the table you can become a member of a space crew and complete missions to earn the rank of Fleet Admiral. It's a classic game that includes nostalgic elements such as Solitaire and Minesweeper.
It's a well-loved classic, and was included with Windows 95 to Vista. Microsoft removed it due to a bug in Vista, and it has never been back. It's no longer part of Windows. However, you can still download it separately to resume your space fleet career.
What is 3D Pinball? Space Cadet?Based on one of the three pinball games in the "Full Tilt!" series. 3D Pinball-Space Cadet, a pinball game from the 'Full Tilt!' series, was later included in Windows 95 to Vista separately. Each mission requires that you complete certain tasks, such as hitting the eight-times attack bumpers.
Fleet Admiral is the pinnacle of your career in space fleet. However, you will need to work your way up from Ensign, Lieutenant Commander, Lieutenant Commander and Commander until you reach this rank.
