There are a variety of tools that you can use in order to upload files on to your website and these include an FTP Client, Web browser and a file manager tool. An FTP Client like CuteFTP, SmartFTP, FileZilla, WS_FTP and LeechFTP are extremely useful when uploading several files. A Web browser may be helpful when you wish to have faster uploading without the use of any extra application. You can access the File Manager on your Control Panel.

Step 1
To upload files on your website through an FTP Client, you need to know your (1) host address or host name; (2) username and password; (3) host directory or remote folder.

The host address can be your actual hosted domain name given that it already works out correctly to your hosting server.

Your website files must be uploaded into an HTML folder if you have a hosting plan that is based on UNIX while if it is Windows-based, then you need to upload your files in the 'WWWROOT' directory.

In order for you to upload your files through the use of a Web browser like Netscape Communicator and Internet Explorer, key in your host address and then enter your username and password once you are prompted to do so.
